About Me

I’ve been a musician for the last 44 years. I have a master’s degree in classical guitar performance and have been playing the electric guitar from the age of 11. I began teaching private guitar lessons in 1986, fulltime since 1989. I taught guitar at UNM as an assistant in the guitar department from 1996-1999. I taught music theory, ear training, as well as guitar at the College of Santa Fe from 1995-1999. I left both those positions. Between 2 colleges and and an ever growing private studio, I never had time to play the guitar! Since 1977 I’ve been performing with various bands playing everything from rock, country, blues, rancheras, tex mex.... solo I play classical, folk, pop, jazz, and some flamenco. Because I’m an intense fan of any music (any art medium, for that matter) that is honest and heartfelt, I love to play many styles of guitar and have been doing so all my life. Consequently, I feel confident teaching many styles! Variety is what’s kept me in the game..
